When Angela Curtis and Trisha Wilstead opened C & C Ballet Academy in September of 1989, there was one small studio and 40 students. They offered classes only in ballet. The studio began to grow quickly and by 1992, they needed to expand. C & C added another studio space. Since they were expanding, they decided to include tap and jazz classes on their new course offering. With the addition of classes, it soon became necessary to expand again. In 1996-1997 they began a remodeling project that increased the size of the two original studios and added an additional studio. During this time their students had many opportunities to travel and perform. They had dance workshops in Las Vegas, California, and New York. In 2000, Trisha left the studio to pursue other interests and Angela has continued to teach and run C & C Ballet Academy. She now offers classes in Jazz, Ballet, Creative, Tap, and Hip Hop, with classes for students ages 3 through adult, beginning to advanced. In 2002, C & C Ballet founded the South Pointe Ballet Company. This new ballet company offers more opportunities for talented dancers. They have produced several productions of Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and Peter and the Wolf. Many of the dancers who are interested in pursuing their dance training in college have received scholarships and acceptance into dance programs throughout the state. C & C has qualified professional instructors and offers the best in dance instruction in the area.
